My students love to read; however, we have very few titles, if any, of the most current high-interest books. Many of our books were lost due to the sudden school closures caused by the pandemic. Many of our books that were checked out were never returned. Our book collection contains very few of the popular books that students want. High-interest books will motivate my students to read more. Our school library lacks the funding to purchase the latest popular books for our students. I hate to see the disappointment in my students' faces when they ask if a certain title is available and I have to tell them that we do not have it. We have a running book wish list from which I selected the books in my project. Funding my project will allow me to have these titles available for my students. This will get them reading and; hopefully, make them lifelong readers and learners.
