As an art educator, it is my goal to provide my students with a new language to express the things they feel. The majority of my students have been through some extremely hard times - losing family or friends to drugs and violence, homelessness, hunger, abuse - and they lack the proper language to express what is going on in their lives. By gaining a knowledge and understanding of visual language, my students will be able better express themselves in ways they could not before. They will be able to use their newfound visual language to spread a message of change through the community. We believe in change through creative intervention.

About my class
