Incorporating science, technology, and engineering tools into the classroom provides countless benefits to children. STEM allows them to learn crucial problem solving, design, and critical thinking skills that will carry them through school and beyond! The ability to expose children living in poverty to creativity through technology and engineering empowers them to dream big and break down any barrier that lies in their path. My students already have a love of expressing themselves and putting their creativity out into the world. Using things like Magnetic Tiles, Brain Flakes and Straw Connectors will allow them to bring their ideas to life in more ways than they could imagine! They will have both structured and unstructured building time; STEM challenges ask them to solve a problem using different materials, and during free explore, they can create anything their little brains dream up! Allowing them to explore with different forms of technology like Osmo Awbe, students will learn valuable coding skills and quite literally bringing their ideas to life. And with the extremely spacious rolling cart, all of the materials will have a secure, organized place to rest. I want my students to feel empowered, engaged, and excited through everything they do, and I truly feel that with these tools, they will become Makers that can change the world!
