Children learn in a variety of ways and Listening is one of them. By listening to books and reading along students can learn about any subject. They can also listen for fun and develop a love for books and a love for learning. Listening to books and reading along helps the students develop fluency, comprehension and a larger vocabulary. They are introduced to new words in a friendly, fun and nonthreatening environment. Listening also helps the students increase their phonemic awareness. By following along they learn how to sound out new words that will become part of their reading vocabulary.
