I provide physical education to almost every student in the school, grades 1 to 6, about 600 students. The students are primarily low income and gang activity in the area is familiar to them. They face daily challenges that greatly affect their ability to be successful in school. I am trying to expand their curriculum in line with state standards to provide more activities that all students can participate in, enjoy, reap the benefits from and be successful. More physical activity translates to healthier and more active students and better performance in the classroom.

About my class
