My students are in need of activities that will help them work on their sensory development. Both of these activites (tactile feelie mat and the Arch activity bar) will help my students develope their senses at thier own skill and ability level. I am currently working on building a sensory development area of my classroom that will be utilized daily during station time. However, this area will also be open to students to use as a relaxation area in the room when they need to take time away from their peers and relax and refocus. Both of these activity centers will be placed in the sensiry learning center for students to work with daily to help develop sensory awareness. Working with students with intellectual, visual and sensory developmental needs having and area to go to refocus is important to their education and emotional growth.
