My students are energetic and excited to be at school. They do not get excited about learning letters when all we have are worksheets and letters in print. My students are a diverse group, including ESL, low income, and middle class. Some come into kindergarten knowing none of their letters and sounds, which make it a challenge to catch them up to grade expectations.
