Our students at Riverview Charter School are a diverse learning community. Many of them have attended our school since kindergarten and we feel like a family! In English class, we stress the importance of reading for knowledge, as well as reading for pleasure. We believe a good book can take you anywhere and you should share the adventure. Therefore, our students spend time in literature clubs, Socratic seminars and project work to analyze various texts. The above photo was taken during our "Readover", an entire day dedicated to reading for pleasure. While we have iPads in middle school, we do not have a school library. Instead, we have a classroom library. The students can read from their iPad, but there is still nothing better than having a good book in your hands! It is our hope that we can build our classroom library with a variety of texts to enhance our learning.
