My classroom is a responsive classroom. We begin each day with a morning meeting, but we don't have a good spot to identify as our meeting spot. The large classroom rug will allow us to meet comfortably as a community each morning to share a greeting, message, and activity with one another. The stool will be a great addition for the featured reader each morning. Both will also allow for my students to have another "go to" spot when they move for their daily 5 rounds of reading, writing, and word work. Gone are the days of rote memorization at a cold desk with a hard chair. Today we are an innovative classroom of students who learn best when they're comfortable.
