My students come from a very low socio-economic environment and are approximately 50% Hispanic and 50% African American. Our school is a Title I school. We also have a very high percentage of Spanish speakers that are just learning the English language. Our students are very hard workers and it is a goal of our campus to make sure that each one succeeds in an environment that is best for them as individuals and expose them to as many different learning experiences as possible. As with most students their age, they need a break from sitting still all day and working in centers during library class is a way for them to have fun learning while working off some of their built-up energy.
