This 2018-2019 school year, I'm teaching 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders, many of them in my (new) Advanced Placement Language and Composition classes. We are a CTE school, meaning that we offer students classes for college readiness as well as courses that allow for licenses in trades & immediate employment after high school. Classes like AP Lang (that I teach to sophomores, juniors, and seniors) allow my kids to consider arguments in global debates, particularly around universal concerns that I hope connect in many ways to their daily lives. With books from Donors Choose, I can stretch our conversations to ideas and places that our dusty book room doesn't always allow. This summer, I'm writing unit plans and selecting books and topics that I hope will inspire thought. Please help me *Help Them* get a head start on the debates they'll encounter in college and in life. Thank you so much for your support!
