I have read Wonder aloud to my classes in previous years, and every time I feel that more can be accomplished if every student has a copy of the book. Picture a class discussion where students can reflect on their reading while looking back at sections of the book as they formulate and defend their opinion. Teaching using novels leads students to making amazing connections with characters that teach them ways to deal with their own problems as well as creating more empathy and kindness within their social circles. Great novels provide the opportunity to enhance reading comprehension skills, fluency, and most of all develop a love for good literature that shape students future.
