About my class

The materials requested will continue to enhance the active learning environment that I strive to create. Cooperative learning has been reduced due to COVID and virtual instruction. Every student has different learning modalities and the opportunity to work together creates an unstoppable learning experience! Children need daily socialization, team building, hands-on encounters, and teacher facilitation to express their ideas and opinions. Students learn best by doing and teachers learn best by observing and listening to their students. The STEM products: design and build like an engineer center, magnetic science center station, building brick Stem challenge kit, plank structures set, gears set interlocking straws engineering set and the educational block set will be used as literacy rotation stations to encourage higher order, critical thinking skills. Students will not only create, but also write about their project and present it to the class. These specific materials I have selected will help my students by giving them a variety of manipulatives to make more effective learning choices. The document camera will allow projects as well as books, posters, manipulatives and worksheets to be projected on the smart board throughout the day. This will enhance the visualization and mental imaging that students need when imagining and creating their masterpieces. Thank you for the opportunity to provide materials for my students to discover and build creations relating to the real world. Children learn best when lessons are integrated, related, reviewed, and connect to their real world. Teaching in a fashion that reaches every student's learning style is essential for optimum achievement and success in the classroom. Future engineers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, clerks, factory workers, CDL drivers, etc. are beginning to bud and bloom within an elementary classroom and students need every opportunity to express their learning in a variety of ways.
