Our district has seen drastic budget cuts this past year, including a 20% cut for all Fine Arts budgets. This greatly limits the amount of funds available for instruction materials in my art room. In addition, the current materials in my building are out dated and include VHS tapes and cassettes. The books I have are non-art related. With all the changes in education, it is essential art support core subjects including reading and mathematics. A lot of students who have problems in other classes come to my room and succeed. These students find ways to express themselves in a positive way and get recognition for their achievements. Please help me update my materials to better educate and inspire my students. It’s going to be a great year in art!
