During our full day kindergarten program, we teach reading and math skills, then we follow each lesson with centers. The students practice the skills they have been learning, in small groups. This is my favorite time of our day, because I get to work in small reading groups, and math groups, to meet the diverse needs of my students. These activities will build my students skills in reading, writing, math, and science. It will help them learn to work together and work independently. It builds their problem solving skills, and their cooperation skills. And best of all, it allows me time to get to know my students better, and work on reaching their goals. These materials will help strengthen my centers all year. Understanding Addition & Subtraction Using Manipulatives will be a math center I can use throughout the year to build a solid foundation in addition and subtraction. Number Sequencing Puzzles and the Count and Link centers will build number sense for my students. 3-Letter Word Building Puzzles help practice beginning, middle, and ending sounds in words. The Block Play Stem Early Learning kit allows the students to use blocks, links, ramps and balls to learn about STEM concepts like structure, momentum, gravity and more. My students love Daily 5 literacy centers, and guided math centers, and these new materials will sure to be some of their favorites!
