I am going to be a first year teacher this upcoming school year. I am working tirelessly to be able to get supplies together to make my classroom the best it can be for my students. I want to create a safe space where students feel comfortable and welcome. As a first year teacher, I have many aspirations of what I want my classroom to be, but above all, I want students to get a warm feeling when they enter my classroom and know that they have a home here. I know teaching is a difficult career and many teachers leave the profession after a few years because of the difficulty and strain on their lives. Teacher burn-out is a real problem. As a recent college graduate and teacher new to teaching, I plan to be in this for a long time. I am a teacher for as long as life allows it. Getting this help to create my classroom will help my students and I for many years to come. Please help me create a safe space for my first class and many more to come. The carts, bookshelf, bins, baskets, stikki clips, nametags, calendar, label maker, and magnetic organizer will be used for organization of classroom materials. The fluorescent light covers will be used to cover the harsh classroom lights. The students will use the dry-erase boards to practice place value. The canopy, rug, and bean bag chair cover will be used to create a cozy and comfortable reading corner for the kids to read and work. The faux plants will add to the home feeling of the classroom. The books will be an additional to our library as well as the book displays. The lights will be used as a visual for students.
