Having the furniture, resources, and accommodating SEL manipulatives will help provide a safe, and accessible environment to grow in! Children thrive when given options and self-efficacy in their decisions. Differentiated seating, manipulatives, and modeling resources (teacher guided inquiry books) help promote emotional regulation that further leads to the research-based success of motivated, engaged, and eager to learn students. A classroom is where a child spends most of their awake time, and we all learn best when emotionally and physically comfortable to do so! These materials will be used to guide inquiry in our international baccalaureate based classroom. They will provide a visually and physically safe environment for all my scholars and will lead to empathetic acceptance and understanding of others needs in the future.
