We need bean bag chairs for some alternative seating choices for whole group lessons and independent reading. This seating will allow for some of our wigglier learners, who have difficulty controlling their bodies, to have a larger personal space during whole group lessons. Normally it's a very tight squeeze having the entire class sitting knee-to-knee and elbow-to-elbow on the common learning area (a carpet). Children who have a hard time sitting for any length of time will be able to shift their bodies as needed and have a safe space in which to sit while still being part of the group. With less distractions and freed up space on the carpet, the entire class will be more comfortable and able to focus.
