My students have been participating in the legislative process and we would like the opportunity to move beyond the classroom and be a part of a student led program. Many students have found a voice that has developed a confidence, to better understand their power as citizens in a democratic society. The students of the Baker Delegation have learned about a variety issues and laws currently around WA facing their own communities and that young people have the power to change the world by promoting positive debate and decorum among the 8th graders in the AVID elective class. The Baker Delegation has the opportunity to spend two nights and three days in Olympia and have an experience that they would not have had otherwise.

About my class
