My students are ethnically diverse; yet, they only see friends, not ethnicity. They are hard workers, and they love to read. My school uses the Accelerated Reader program, where students read a book, take an online test, and earn points when they pass the test. They love to meet their reading goals, and complain when they need to put their books away to do other tasks. They also love math and science. The more hands-on the better! My school is a wonderful place for learning. The adults all work together to help all students learn. Older students help younger students; classmates help classmates. We fill each others "buckets" daily and celebrate our successes.
