Although most of them will not read unless told to do so when I introduce them to a new book that grabs their attention they come to class begging to read. They have very strong opinions and love to share what they are thinking. The novel "Wonder" is a book that takes students on a journey through the life of a young man who was born with facial deformities. In the past students have told me that this book was the first book they have ever enjoyed reading in their life. Having this class set would not only help me in teaching academic standards I believe it will awaken a love of reading for many of my students.
