Students at Valley View Elementary love to come to music! We work on singing, note reading, rhythm dictation, dancing, instrument playing and so much more. When we aren't moving and dancing, students sit on the carpet. Students love to draw music notes and do some rhythm dictation! This is listening to a rhythm, then being able to notate it. There are no desks in the music classroom, so it can be difficult when we need to write! Currently, any time we have to write, students have to grab clipboards and find a way to make them work. Students have trouble focusing when they are trying to make sitting on the floor and writing on a clipboard comfortable. Lap desks would help students be more successful in music class! With lap desks, we could eliminate the hassle of clipboards. We can better focus on the writing tasks. Students can improve their handwriting, drawing, and coloring when they aren't struggling with a clipboard. We can move at a faster pace and have better focus!
