Fostering good reading and literacy habits begins with a comfortable zone. Good readers need a quiet environment where they can escape reality and immerse into the whimsical world of a good book. Having a common area to congregate with comfort will allow my students to develop and enjoy good reading habits. I would love for them to have a designated area where their love for learning while reading can be associated. A large, cozy, and comfortable rug would be the ideal beginning to an everlasting love for reading.
