Transitioning to 3rd grade is a BIG DEAL! I put a lot of time and money into my classroom to make a warm and inviting area for students to learn. With varying class sizes and the activity space needed, desks are not always going to work. I have adapted my seating arrangements to best accommodate students learning needs with the materials I have. Things like stretchy bands on desk chairs, lap desks to put on top of the students desk so they can stand, etc. I have seen the great benefit in students behavior and academics when they have seating that best fits their learning style. The use of these flexible seating options would only help my students are they learn and grow in this classroom everyday
