The 20 students in my TK-1 (Transitional Kindergarten aka the Tropical Kingdom) class are able to learn on a first grade level but are still young and experience behavior and social concerns related to developmental maturity. TK students need a wide variety of activities to practice and understand learning concepts. These activities need to build upon what they learned in kindergarten,not repeat what they did, so I am constantly researching and implementing new ideas. Many of our activities include service-learning through real-life opportunities.
