Standing desks are beneficial to every learner and teacher in the classroom. The desks will truly help to complete the ideal environment that values the process as much as the final product. My students have really embraced the opportunity to write and to create, but in a 95 minute block, movement is necessary to keep the ideas flowing through collaboration and to keep the blood pumping for the health benefits of building better posture and burning calories! The addition of standing desks around the perimeter of the classroom will also facilitate the sharing of ideas with peers and writer's workshop suggestions from me!
