Rugs are so important for a Kindergarten classroom! This is the area where students learn new skills and share ideas. It is a place where students sit together and build relationships. It is also the place where they practice the skills they learn during whole group lessons. Rugs can be more than just a rug; they can also be a learning tool. I plan to give each student a place to sit based on a specific color, shape, letter name, or even letter sound. We can practice the skills we are learning just by finding our seat on the rug!
