Students spend so much time sitting at their desks, where they are asked to work quietly and sit still. Providing them with more opportunities to work around the room, in a comfortable setting with comfortable seating of their choice, where they can remain in one area, but be flexible with their movement, allowing them to bounce, stretch their legs, swing. I am hoping the creativity of the classroom seating will allow them to be creative in their work, and keep their bodies stimulated, as well as their minds. Flexible seating such as balance ball seats, beanbags and wobble chairs will teach them respect and responsibility, as well as the concept of work to earn. That flexible seating is a privilege that has to be earned, and can be lost if not used appropriately.
