Funding of this project would allow for the purchase of items needed to set up a designated “safe” area for our students who have special needs. This area of our classroom would accommodate those students requiring a separate location to calm down and/or temporarily escape feelings of anxiety. I am a teacher who has the honor of working with kids who have special needs. I am asking for your assistance to help provide items needed to set up an inviting area that will allow our students the opportunity to calm down, de-escalate and regroup so that they are able to return to the general education classroom feeling more in control and confident.
