These materials will help my students with becoming responsible with organizing materials that go home and what needs to be returned to school. Many days students bring back folders that are ripped and parents usually don't replace torn folders. I keep rolls of duct tape on hand to doctor folders that have torn or beginning to tear. Having heavy duty folders and folders to hold important papers (homework, parent notes, behavior calendars, graded papers and art work to show off) allows students to transport their possess safely. The durable folders have two sections were one side tells students what to return to school and the other side what needs to stay home. Starting students off with being organized allows them to grow independent and shows that them that being organized is important. Students know the expectations of keeping folders organized' such as clean folders daily, place homework on the "return to school" side and graded papers go on the " keep at home" side.
