This year, we have made it our focus to help third grade readers grow in their reading skills. I am working with the students who need more hands-on experiences and intriguing books to help them grow as readers. My students helped create this project, by suggesting books for our classroom library that they thought would spark their interest in reading. I am requesting a wide range of literature titles at their suggestion. By getting these books, my students will feel even more motivated to read. As a second year teacher, I also have been working to build my classroom library with texts that are accessible for all of my students. By getting magnetic letters, reading dice, and colored reading overlays , my students will be able to participate in more hands-on literacy experiences.
