My students are 2nd and 3rd graders in a public school in Pennsylvania. They come from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. The thing these students have in common is that reading does not come easily for them. Whether it's decoding words or comprehending what they have read, these students need to work extra hard each day to make it through school.
