Our campus is in an underserved inner-city middle school in the process of becoming an IB World Choice school! And for the coming 21-22 school year, I will be a split teacher. This means I will have the opportunity to teach 6th Grade World Cultures and 7th Grade Texas History and have an impact on more students. So, what is a teacher to do? Double the classroom! I currently serve as a classroom teacher in an underserved inner-city middle school. Despite these struggles, our students are resilient and eager to learn. Our classrooms have become their safe places. And I want to give them every opportunity to feel they are worth our time and capable of great things! This is where you come in. Becoming an IB school requires a different classroom environment in which our students will learn and grow. he cost of transforming a classroom is costly especially for this humble teacher. I am asking for support in transforming our school and classroom in to an IB World Classroom.
