These materials will go to my students to allow them a fresh start to the new year. My students come from backgrounds where food can be scarce around the house. I want them to be able to come to school and not be prepared for class because they do not have a pencil or school materials. Please, help me get my students prepared for the school year; I don't want to let them come to school the first day lacking any supplies, even a pencil. I plan to make learning as engaging as I can by adding a little bit of color to their lives through fun foldables, which we will make with the colored paper. One of my favorite lessons with foldables is the Character and Conflict pyramid that we do. We take the protagonist and antagonist and describe each of them on one side of the pyramid. Then on the other last side we describe the conflict and how each character contributes to that. It is a fun conflict lesson that I would do with students to get them to think about how characters influence the problem of the story.
