I am a second-year band and choir director from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that is enjoying learning about teaching while teaching kids about learning! I teach 6th grade beginning band, 7/8th grade middle school band, and 9-12th grade high school band. The numbers at our school are few, but with only 350 kids in the entire 6-12, our band is actually quite large (30 in the HS band, 25 in the MS band, and 15 just starting in 5th grade)! My goal during my time here is to bring our classroom into the 21st century by introducing technology to enhance our performances and give them tools to improve as they get older.
