My goal is to build a classroom library with engaging, thought-provoking books that will help my fifth graders develop into not just intelligent people, but well-rounded citizens. Students are only taken to the school library once a week. I want to provide them with an enriching library in the classroom as well that they can visit as often as they like. I am a new teacher and it takes many years and a lot of money to build an engaging class library. Giving my students the opportunity to choose from quality books can spark a love of literacy in them.
