3D printing technology is a major trend in education. I was loaned a 3D printer for my fifth grade classroom last year and the engagement it bought was beyond belief. 3D printing technology allows scholars to experience engineering first hand at such an early age. Scholars will learn the history and proper use of the printer to ensure its longevity. Scholars will be able to chose, print, and help with the maintenance of the 3D products. Scholars will also be able to create 3d models to be uploaded and printed from the 3D printer. Lastly, the 3D pen will be of great use as scholars struggle with the challenge of making something recognizable. Due to each scholars wanting to create a 3D product, filament is highly requested and needed. My scholars live in Washington DC Ward 5, are low income and most qualify for free/reduced lunch.
