Our students often don't have the basic supplies for school success and we want to change that. This grant will give my math students access to plenty of pencils to use in note taking and calculations. We're going to use graph paper when learning about tables and graphing. Multiple quality pencil sharpeners will help us focus more on student learning because students will spend less time waiting in line. I use calculators with students to help solidify new concepts and build strategies that can be used in higher grades. Our calculators are used for more than just simple calculations. Having additional pencils, paper, sharpeners, and calculators in the classroom will give our students a great start. If students walk into our math class and all of their supplies are already there, they will be less stressed and can better focus on learning.
