Students travel from throughout the city to attend our magnet school. They have come to study various fields of science, while also attending the core courses offered at traditional schools (math, english, foreign language, etc.). The student population at this STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education program) school is very diverse, both racial and socioeconomic. There is a large population of students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Although are students have the passion for learning, they often lack the techniques and supplies necessary to meet their potential. As a school, we strive to provide every opportunity for our students to succeed. With the current budget cuts, this task is becoming more difficult. Supplies that used to be provided to students are now being cut from the budget. Students who lack the funds to buy such supplies on their own are suffering. They are not able to buy the supplies that they need to reach for the stars.
