While my students have the opportunity to play with boomwhackers, triangles, and even guitars, one thing that is missing is DRUMS! With this classroom set of hand drums, students will have the chance to learn more about percussion instruments with a hands-on example. Drums allow students to make connections to multiple academic areas in a creative way, celebrate cultural similarities and differences, and work together. Drums help unify each class of students in a way that cannot be done with words alone. Students will have the opportunity to use these drums in nearly every class. The opportunities available with these instruments are limitless! From drumming games, to discussions on technique, and even lessons on culture, these drums will provide students the opportunity to grow as musicians, students, and learners. By supporting this project, you are allowing students a creative outlet, more in-depth musical experiences, and most importantly, the GIFT of music!
