My class loves to learn through hands-on application with project-based learning. We focus on a driving question throughout the quarter and then create a visual presentation at the end of the quarter to showcase everything we learned in order to answer that question. We will create amazing visual presentations to show our answers to real life questions such as “How can citizens help each other achieve their hopes and dreams?” Project-based learning uses 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, among others. There is also student choice within the process, which is why I need to be able to provide a vast amount of materials to students. Project-based learning also provides opportunities for feedback and revision of the plan and the project. It requires students to present their problems, research process, methods, and results.
