Dash and Dot robots are moved and manipulated through a coding application. Students use coding skills to move the robots in different directions. They can also be used to catapult things into the air or play musical instruments. I have witnessed firsthand the level of engagement when students use the robots, and it's really phenomenal. Students will not only learn valuable coding skills, but these robots can be incorporated into a bevy of standards. Dash and Dot robots can be coded to trace the parts of a plant, be driven in specific patterns to create geometric shapes, learn the difference between an acute or obtuse angle, or become familiar with the different areas of the library. Because our school is STEAM driven, it only makes sense that we see these mechanisms as a necessity!
