My students are wonderful, but they have a lot to overcome. They live in a poverty-stricken area. Some of my students come from homes where meeting basic daily needs is a struggle. Studies have shown that children from impoverished homes are at-risk for educational failure. Our school staff works hard to make sure all students are successful in both the home and school settings.
