In our magical first-grade classroom, our scholars engage in challenges such as learning to read books, hands-on science and math experiences, and publishing their first books as authors! Although, our current classroom space limits peer collaboration, comfort, flexibility and student-choice. As a Title 1 and high-needs school, my goal is to bridge the achievement gap by designing a space that fosters social, emotional and academic success. These flexible seating materials are the first step to creating a comfortable and safe learning environment that will prepare our future leaders for the education that they deserve.
