Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times, I allow my students to find a space that works for them. An uncomfortable student, is a distracted and unproductive student. Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive. I have noticed a tremendous change in my students since I have allowed flex seating. They are way more engaged and have increased productivity. I have witnessed how choice has changed the dynamic of my classroom. My students have grown so much, and I have seen an increase in student performance. I hope these additional options will only continue that trend for this coming school year and the many to follow.
