My students would greatly benefit from having a broad selection of interesting books on their levels to read during our guided reading and independent reading times. The more they are engaged in quality books, the better they become as readers! The love of reading is shaped at a young age and my first graders are eager to dig into all kinds of texts. During our independent reading each day, students have the opportunity to browse our classroom library and I want to make sure they have an ample supply of books to choose from! The leveled set of books will be a great resource to pull from during our guided reading each day.
