"To acquire the habit of reading is to construct for yourself a refuge from almost all the miseries of life," said W. Somereset Maugham. My students have not discovered the habits of everyday readers who not only choose to read but want to enjoy a good book! Each school year I have 44 students who join me for a year of reading and writing adventures. They come from many different cultural backgrounds to join me in an aging school that has halls filled with tiger pride! I try to instill in my students the power and joy of reading by filling my classroom with many books and my passion for reading!
