Having a classroom that feels like a safe haven sets learning apart. Having a fully furnished reading area with incentives will make all of the difference. My students will no longer need to worry about basic learning needs such as pencils, paper, crayons because they will know Ms. Tate has them covered. My 6th grade students concentrate on a rigorous curriculum that incorporates concepts of government and social justice. In particular, we are focusing on dystopian and science-fiction genres and how the lessons learned in those texts are applicable in real-world contexts. In addition, I need to function and effortlessly fulfill my duties as a teacher with virtual tutoring, parent communication, and scheduling. Having a functional laptop and workspace will ensure I am prepared are ready to assist my students and families when needed. The laptop will also enable me to monitor my students' progress, launch apps to their devices, and give feedback through the Classroom app.
