Every year academic expectations for younger students increase, but their need for movement and an outlet for energy does not decrease. These seats will be utilized during their literacy center work and during small group lessons, so that their body has the ability to wiggle and move, while they remain focused and complete tasks. I teach Reading rotations in 1st Grade, and they are in class for an hour at a time. During that time, they participate in literacy centers and small group Reading lessons catered to their reading ability. These seating options will allow them to have brain healthy and body healthy movement while they are also able to focus on their center activities and reading lessons.
