The annual Celebration of Art at my school is one of our largest student, parent, and community events that has drawn upwards of 500 people. This festival is a chance for me to show off my amazing students' artwork and raise funds for the art room with a variety of fun games, growing larger and larger each year. This is also a great venue to bring a cultural experience, such an important part of my art curriculum, to not only to my students, but also their families and even the community. In the past, we have had a dance troupe perform and talk about traditional and contemporary African dances. Through experiences like these, my students will gain a tolerance and understanding of different cultures and people.
